Connect Your Vcr To Tv Via Dish Network
People prefer watching dish TV on big LCD screens. Some people are also of the opinion that old devices like a video cassette recorder cannot be kept with them. Connecting a VCR to an LCD is no different from connecting the old device to a TV set. Most TV sets have an RF coaxial input port. You can connect your VCR to the TV or LCD set and make tape recordings from dish network. There is no need to discard an old item in fear of not being able to use it. It may be a token of love that you do not want to do away with.
There are a few pointers you need to remember to connect your VCR to your LCD TV. This will help you to take benefit of satellite TV channels. You have to disconnect the connection to your Dish Network receiver box and TV. This connection is usually made with the help of RF or coaxial wire. The cable at the receiver box’s end also needs to be done away with. But you can keep the connection intact if they are connected with the help of composite video or DVI (Digital Visual Interface) cable.
Now you have to connect the dish network receiver to the VCR. Here it is necessary to make use of a coaxial or RCA cable to connect the satellite box’s output to the VCR’s input. For RCA cables, the color order from right to left is red, white and then yellow. In some VCRs, the input port is in front and not at the back. After you have completed till here, connect the VCR to the LCD TV set through coaxial ports, which are better known as RF ports. Make a connection of the VCR’s output port to the RF port in the back of the TV. You may make use of the coaxial cable that is left from an earlier disconnect. But in case the TV and Dish Network weren’t originally connected like this, and then get hold of coaxial wire.
Once you through till here, the other part is cake walk. Plug in and switch on the VCR. Next you need to set the VCR channel tuner to the TV channel that carries your Dish Network satellite signal. Even the VCR’s Line In Channel can work. It is important to check if the Dish Network TV signal clearly goes through the TV. For most of the times it will. But if it doesn’t then check all the connections. If there is a second connection from the satellite TV that doesn’t go through the VCR, then you can try to disconnect that link. This might help to restore the Dish Network connection.
Now with the machine ‘on’ activate the VCR by hitting the ‘TV/Video’ button. You will then be able to receive satellite TV signals. The picture quality might not be as good as the other times. This is due to the signals being transmitted by an analog connection.
