Convertible Chassis BMW E30 ?
So I hear that you can never make a convertibles chassis as strong as its roofed counterpart. Is this entirely true?
I have a 325i E30 Convertible. I plan on turbocharging (t3/t4 hybrid 250-300hp), so I know i'll need to stiffen up the chassis and upgrade the suspension quite a bit. So here is the deal.
e36 suspension conversion (5 lug)
e36 brake conversion with e32 master cylinder
custom fabricated chassis x-brace
custom fabricated roll cage where rear seats are (seats will be removed for 8 point)
stronger axles (any ideas?)
Stronger driveshaft (any ideas)
sound good ?
is the above question true ?
have any good ideas?

4.45 E36 318i automatic differential?
Sounds like a plan.
While you're in the E36 take out the rear diff (w/lsd) and the axles, even better if it's the E36 M3.
And to be honest the M52 is a better engine to play with then the M20. Plus you can mount it to the E30 tranny as well.
Also the power steering rack will bolt right on as well. Way better than what came stock on the E30.
