1/10 electric r/c duratrax evbx won't move unless boosted/pushed first it acts like it has no power when stopd?
R/C car is a 1/10 duratrax evader BX (electric)
EPIC 540 19 turn motor and a Duratrax 18 turn limit ESC I have not run this car for some time now, and when i plug the battery in I get full constant power for steering, and the lights change from neutral to full throttle on the ESC when I hit the gas on the radio. The problem = the car will not start moving from a dead stop. It goes fine once you give it a little push at first until you return it to a dead stop again where it must be boosted/pushed to go under its own power. So I am as far as to figure out the prob is with the motor. I checked the leads and the brushes are pretty new, though I haven't pulled them yet. I would just like to know if that is the most likely source of my problem (brushes) or if it is timing (set right at 0 still) or if there is something beyond me that you may happen to know before I go fixing all the wrong things. Thanks for your help and/or suggestions!
I believe you have answered your own question which is, in all likelihood your motor needs replacement. The reason you cannot get the car to start from a stationary position is due to "deadband" within the motor. The "deadband" is the amount of voltage required to get the motor to initally turn, however once the motor is running the force required is less and hence you can drive your car. The reason you have this "deadband" is due to your brushes in your motor. Brushes have a limited life and can be damaged during the normal bumps and jumps experienced by a rc car.
I would upgrade to a brushless motor or move to a Nitro engine. I am not sure whether your car is compatible with HSP, but if it is then the best place to get hsp parts is
